Upholstery FAQS

How long does reupholstery take?

The actual time to complete the work is about one week, depending on what additional work we have to do inside. We usually have a backlog of work that is ahead of you that takes about 3-5 weeks to clear. There are seasonal times where it may take an extra 2 weeks to clear the backlog before your project.

I need my furniture quicker. Do you offer a rush service?

Yes, we can rush your furniture through for an additional fee. Sometimes we can speed things along without any charge to accommodate an immediate need. Just ask and we will try to work with your time frame.

I only want my cushions reconditioned. Do I have to wait two weeks for that?

No. We can have cushions ready in a day or two. Also, a small project (like dining room chairs or pillows) can be worked into our schedule so that you can get them back without waiting through the backlog. Usually within a couple of days. Just ask, we are happy to let you know how quickly we can push something through for you.

What if I have my own fabric?

We can work with your fabric but only on upholstery. There are no warranties offered on COM. If you are using COM, please note that each shop will have its own style of cutting, the layout will differ and so will the yardage. Large prints and plaids will also affect the total yardage. Note there is a $10 per yard surcharge for COM. Purchasing our fabric helps pay our bills.

Do you offer Pickup/Delivery service?

Yes, we offer both pickup and delivery anywhere in DC, Maryland, Northern Virginia for $75-$200.

How can I get an estimate?

The most efficient way to click on the contact link or email us at juliana.m@mh-upholstery.com with a picture of the item you would like upholstered and the basic measurements (i.e. outside arm to outside arm) and style (i.e. the number of cushions, buttons, skirt) of your furniture. If you do not have access to email, we can schedule you in for an appointment at the upholstery shop with a picture and measurements.
