1800's Ducan Phyfe Mahogany Sofa
Duncan Phyfe Mahogany Sofa
The Historic Record Street Home was built in 1890, later to be donated as a Home for the Aged. The First two residents, a school retired teacher and one being Mrs. Margaret M. Delaplaine, widow of George W. Delaplaine; she died two years later. She had supported the idea of such a facility and even offered her own home for its use.
We have had the honor of restoring & reupholstering various historical pieces of furniture at R.S.H.

Duncan Phyfe Mahogany Sofa
Basically, we took the Duncan Phyfe Mahogany Sofa down to its frame. The sofa needed new springs, new webbing...the works, including a good oil stain rub. Afterwards we upholstered the Duncan Phyfe Mahogany Sofa in an exquisite embroidered fabric by Greenhouse fabrics. The residents of R.S.H. always enjoy seeing the antique furniture restored and reupholstered, which truly is a reward within itself. We appreciated the opportunity to help preserve, R.S.H
